Settings Quick Guide

Here is a list of Settings Options and their path to locate them.  Sometimes it can be difficult to find that hidden setting that you don’t use all the time.  Believe me, I know.  This quick guide will help.  This quick guide will get bigger as more posts and information are published.  If you do not see something in here that you need to know, send me an email.  I’ll get back to you as soon as possible and then add to this list to help others.

Email Fetch OptionsDefine

iPhone – Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > (everything under the FETCH heading applies)

iPad – Same as the iPhone

Email Push OptionDefine

iPhone – Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Push > (either On or Off)

iPad – Same as the iPhone

Keyboard Clicks – The click sound made when typing that occurs when the phone is NOT on vibrate.

iPhone – Settings > Sounds > Keyboard Clicks > (either On or Off)

iPad – Settings > General > Sounds > Keyboard Clicks > (either On or Off)

Lock Sounds – The sound made when putting the phone to sleep by hitting the Power button at the top, or waking the phone by sliding the “slide to unlock”.

iPhone – Settings > Sounds > Lock Sounds > (either On or Off)

iPad – Settings > General > Sounds > Lock Sounds > (either On or Off)

Raise to Speak – When turned on, bringing your unlocked iPhone to your ear will activate Siri.

iPhone only – Settings > General > Siri > Raise to Speak

Safari Private Browsing – Your browser history does not get logged.

iPhone – Settings > Safari > Privacy

Safari Search Engine – Safari gives you the option to choose your favorite search engine.  Google, Yahoo or Bing.

iPhone – Settings > Safari > Search Engine

iPad – Same as the iPhone

Use Cellular Data – This setting allows or stops your device from downloading purchases on the cellular network.

iPhone – Settings > Store > Use Cellular Data
